Wayne Brown was a business visitor to Kitchen Saturday.

Mr. Julian Evans was calling on Miss Eva Barker Sunday.

Rev. Dyke Garrett preached at the Campbellite church Sunday.

Messrs. Everett Fowler, Wayne Brown, and Chester Cooke were calling on Miss Ona Walls Sunday night.

Windy Conley was riding the white mule Sunday.

Miss Anna Bowling is sporting a diamond ring.

Andrew Fowler seems to be financially embarrassed.

Mr. Nathan Booth made a flying switch and bumped into Bal Bryant Friday night at twelve midnight.

Mr. Ed Chapman seems to be liking blackberry wine these days.

Mr. Walter Ferrell made a flying trip to Big Creek Sunday.

Mr. John Bishop was seen chasing Mr. Ed Johnson with something. Ed sure can run.

Where is the nice paved street!

We hope every one has enjoyed Christmas, as it only comes once a year.

We surely have been having some rough weather. It seems as though Chapmanville is going to be overflown by water, if it keeps on raining.

Miss Opal Johnson who has been at Huntington for some time spent Christmas with her parents at this place.

Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Ferrell spent the weekend with home folks here.

Mr. Walter Ferrell seems to enjoy going up to Mr. Raines these days.

The Sunday School seems to be progressing very nicely since Mr. O.C. Winters has taken charge.

Miss Willa Lowe and Emmet Raines were seen out walking Sunday evening.

There were new pupils at Sunday School Sunday. Come again boys. We are glad to have you. Everyone is welcome.

We wish Mr. G.R. Lowe of Stollings would visit us again. He was our Sunday School teacher and Superintendent for almost two years.

Dr. Ferrell and the family are visiting home folks for the holidays.

Blake Bently who shot off two of his toes some time ago will soon be able to get out again.

Miss Thelma Scaggs seemed to be downhearted Sunday. Cheer up, Thelma. You may win him back.

Mrs. Ellen Conley still continues seriously ill.

Miss Goldie Rowsey has returned from Ohio where she has been staying for some time.

While out hunting Monday morning, Mr. O.F. Ferrell fell and hurt himself very badly. We wish him quick recovery.

We are having some bad weather at this writing.

Miss Thelma Scaggs seemed to be enjoying herself Sunday evening.

It is sad to tell of the death of Miss Della Vanover who had been ill for some time with tuberculosis. Miss Vanover died at 4:30 Monday morning.

The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Guinn and took away their small son, aged seven months and seven days.

Walter Ferrell was calling on his best girl Sunday.

The intermediate Sunday school class is progressing nicely since the class has been organized.

Arnold Barker and Miss Hazel Sanders seem to be enjoying themselves these days.

There is a large bunch of folks in town with very sore arms since the vaccination for typhoid fever.

Dr. J.T. Ferrell and Miss Maude Fillinger were seen at church Saturday night.

Ennal Yeager had a new girl Sunday.

We are sorry that Grover Lowe has left our town. He has been the superintendent of the Sunday school at the Christian church for the past year. We have had a good Sunday school ever since he has been here. O.C. Winters has taken his place.

Just a little news from Chapmanville to let the people know it is still on the map; yes, and deep in the mud.

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. It seems that everyone in town had turkey for dinner. I mean all but me; I had a few burnt beans seasoned with groundhog grease. Wasn’t that fine?

Stewart Nelson from Huntington has been visiting in our town for the past week.

Everyone seemed to enjoy going to the show, as it was the first one in our town for some time.

Someone was mistaken when they thought Dr. J.T. Ferrell was the colored actor.

Walter Ferrell was calling on Miss Carrie Raines Sunday.

Miss Grace Workman was the most popular girl in our town. She received a beautiful chinaware set.

Paul Winters, who is attending high school at Huntington, spent Thanksgiving with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Winters of this place.

Miss Fay Turner, who is attending school at Huntington, was with her mother for Thanksgiving.

Ward Ferrell and Miss Bernice Ward seem to be enjoying themselves now days.

Vanzel Bentley escorted Miss Beulah Ballard home from the show Saturday night.

Mrs. Helen Fitzpatrick from Huntington was the weekend guest of her mother, Mrs. Ruth Carter.

I guess the girls broke Bill’s kodak and that is the reason why he hasn’t taken any more pictures.

Wetzel Raines was calling on Miss Callie Ferrell Sunday.

Misses Vivian Ferrell, Callie Ferrell, and Wetzel Raines were seen out walking Sunday evening.

Walter Workman seems very sad these days. Cheer up, Walter. Hazel still loves you.

John Whitman was calling on Miss Hazel Conley Sunday.

Osie workman was calling on Miss Agnes Whitman Sunday.

Mrs. J.D. Turner is visiting friends in Raleigh county the week end.

Misses Gladys Lowe, Bernice Ward, Margaret Ballard, Ella Jane Toney, and Carlos and Walter Ferrell were seen out walking Sunday.

Dr. Ferrell delivered a very nice speech to the junior high school Friday which we appreciated very much.

Misses Minnie and Sara Ferrell were seen out walking Sunday evening.

We are having fine weather and a lively time in Big Creek.

Mrs. Mae Shriver was seen playing croquet at her mother-in-law’s, Mrs. A.D. Shriver, Saturday.

F.W. Saltsman, the agent, sure does his duty.

Roy Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chapman, is very ill at present. We hope he will be well soon and his parents, relatives, and friends have our sympathy.

Carlos and Walter Ferrell and Misses Grace Workman and Ella Jane Toney of Chapmanville were joy riding Sunday afternoon.

Wilbur Walford of this place has been very ill for the past few weeks, but we are glad to say is some better.

Miss Princess Butcher seemed to be downhearted Sunday. Cheer up, Princess. Archie will be back soon.

Mrs. Polly Ellis has been visiting relatives at Estep and Banco. We sure do miss her in Big Creek.

Julia Thomas seemed to be blue Sunday. Cheer up, Julia. He’ll come back.

Come on Chapmanville and Manila and Banco. We know writing is hard work but the hands that work will make the world go and for pep we don’t lack. This is our motto: Work ahead and never look back.

Mr. Adams sure does believe in playing the organ. Don’t you imagine he gets tired?

Robert Carter was out horseback riding early Saturday morning.

Brack Walls escorted Elna Cox home from church Friday night.

We all hope Miss Beulah Ballard and Mr. Snidow will get along fine with the Diploma test this year.

Opal Johnson, Lillian and Agnes Whitman were out walking Sunday.

Misses Hazel Conley and Minnie Workman were out walking Saturday afternoon.
