The truth is Kentucky was a major cotton producer at the start of the Civil War along with Hemp and some Tobacco. West Kentucky areas all the way up to Louisville had cotton production along with less around Lexington and Eastern Kentucky. These are facts. Kentucky was 20 to 24 percent Black at the start of the Civil War.
