My late grandfather, P.L. Johnston of Logan, once told me that his father, Oscar Johnston, resident of Salt Rock at the time, took him as a boy, to Huntington, to hear Bryant speak. My grandfather was 9 yrs. old, at the time. This experience left quite an impression on the young P.L. He and his family were big supporters of the “Great Commoner”.
