Thanks, Faith!
Brandon,
I am a decedent of the Lucas family from Lincoln County WV and further back to Giles County Virginia. My grandmother was Minnie Bell Brumfield ( daughter of Albert Brumfield) who married Andrew Jackson Lucas, son of Jefferson Davis Lucas. My grandmother was born in 1885 and lived to be 100 years old. She told me stories of the feud when I was young, saying she had to duck down once to avoid gunshots. She also talked a lot about the Big Ugly and Harts Creek. I have always been told that the Lucas family had very close ties with the Fry family, and there were several marriages between the families. Other close ties yo the Atkins, Brownings, Price and Toney. When I was a kid my grandfather took us to the Lucas cemetery near 7 mile. We had to walk quite a ways from the road to the cemetery and crossed by the Snyder Atkins farm. We might be related. Do you have a family tree that goes back to the 1600’s? Thank you.
Mark A. Lucas
Hi, Mark. We would be related. I descend from Paris Brumfield, brother to your progenitor Allen Brumfield of Big Ugly Creek. My mother is a Lucas. I descend from Price Lucas and Bill Lucas. Come up for a visit.
