Allen Brumfield and Rebecca Johnson are my great grandparents. My uncle Dimple placed a marker on their graves in a little grave yard in the forest off of Big Ugly. I visit every year or so. Would love to hear more about them.
Hi, Brad. I used to visit Dimple when I lived in Huntington in the early and mid-1990s. He was a very nice gentleman. I also spoke with your dad about our shared family history at every opportunity. I bought his book from him at the Apple Butter Festival one year. I visited Earl at his home on his last birthday. He told me about riding a raft of timber. Earl was a fine man. If you’re ever in the Harts area, I’ll show you some things relating to our Brumfield history.
Allen and Rebecca were my great-great grandparents. I’d love to learn more about Allen as well. I descend from the Brumfield/Carper families. We are hoping to gather for a reunion in WV this October (I’m from CA). Brandon, I just received your book from Amazon yesterday and am really ooking forward to reading it! Thanks to your research, I’ve learned so much! I’d love to map out a tour of family grave sites.
Thank you! Hopefully, we can meet when you come to West Virginia in October. We share a very special family history. Please let me know what you think of the book.
