Brandon, how was Harv and Maude related to Huge and Henderson. Grandfather/ great grandfather? I plan on calling my cousin, Brenda Thompson, she will be able to share all the information that has been collected with her mother. Brenda’s mother is a sister to Harv, Inda Dingess Thompson, She is in her 80’s and her vision is not good, so I know she will enjoy Brenda going over all that has been written. Brenda nor her sister’s do not know all the history of their family. They were all down in the Harts area when Harv died several years back. And, did Sallie Adams have more children? My grandmother, Lora Bell Martin was a Adams before marriage. Not sure of the name of her mother nor name of her father..And I never did hear my granny Thompson mention Whirlwind, In what area of Harts was it located? And would you know the name of the school in Hoover, she was a teacher their in the 40’s. Love all that has been written, like sitting down with a book that you can’t wait until the page can be turned to see what happens next!
Harve and Maude were always so good to talk with me about the family history. I miss them both. Maude was the daughter of Harvey “Long Harve” Dingess and the granddaughter of Henderson Dingess. Hugh Dingess was Maude’s uncle. Maude’s husband, Harve Dingess, descended from two of Henderson’s brothers, Julius Caesar Dingess and Harvey S. Dingess. Through his mother, Myrna Dingess, his grandfather was Harvey “Short Harve” Dingess, son of Albert and grandson of Harvey S. Through his father, Croley Dingess, his grandfather was Dave George Dingess, son of Julius “Babe” Dingess and grandson of Julius Caesar Dingess. It’s confusing, I know.
My mom went to the Hoover school in the late 30’s/early 40’s as she lived with John and Rosa Carter on Hoover Fork.
