This is the same cemetery that the now call Adams/Mullins cemetery on buckfork? It looks to be the same, just always assumed it was Adams/Mullins. Nice to find out great information… Glad to see others who care about documenting information! Its important for future generations.
Hi, Sarah. So nice to hear from you. Peter Mullins, born about 1804, began this cemetery. Later generations of Adams people married into his family; several of them are buried in the lower section of the cemetery. If it’s your family cemetery, by all means call it whatever you choose. I call it the Old Peter Mullins Cemetery because it was Mr. Mullins who once owned the land and who initiated burials in the cemetery.
It is my husbands family. His mother (Candrian (Adams) Ramey) and gradmother (Sonja (adams) Johnson) and great grand parents (King Adams & Edna Mae (Mullins) Adams) are all buried there. I just like to know where things are what it used to be like I am not from Harts Creek, Just lived there 5years. We live in Ohio where I am from now. I was also wondering if you had anything posted about an Elza and Elsie Workman or Polly Emily and Thompson Workman for Bulwark. Those are my husbands fathers Parents and grand parents. I cant seem to find anything about them anywhere. thanks in advance.
Hi, Sarah. Now that you have named some of the older names for me, I am familiar with your Adams and Mullins lines. I attended a family reunion in the bottom below the cemetery just last summer. Were you there? At this time, I have only limited research on the early residents of Whirlwind, which includes all of Upper Hart past Hoover Fork. Keep watching for things. I hope I post something of value to you.
yes, We were there. Its the first one that they have had since my husband and I have been together. Unfortunately it was after all of the older relatives were gone. would have been great to have some of them there.
