I have been following your blog since last winter. I am pleased with finding out that Sherman McCoy is my grandpa. I have searched for a long time and couldn’t find anything, thanks to your blog I have found family members. Sherman seemed to be a pretty good guy. My dad , Charles McCoy , didn’t say to much about him.
.
Oh my! That is very exciting. I have more pictures of Sherman’s family. Sherman’s father, Green McCoy, was quite famous. After twenty years of research, I have recently completed a book about his life. If you are ever in the area, I would love to meet you. In 1998, I met some of the McCoys from Little Green’s family, but have yet to meet any of Sherman’s family. I show Charles Bernard McCoy as Sherman’s oldest child, born about 1920. According to my records, Charles (your father) married Effie Belle Petry in 1945 in Aracoma, Logan County, WV. I would love to know more about Charles’ kids and also more about his brothers, Raymond and Ralph. Did Sadie die young? I see that Sherman remarried to Lenora Evans in 1928. Feel free to email me: brankirk@yahoo.com.
We would love to meet you. Were planning a wedding for one of my sons. I’ll e-mail you soon with my info, I also have some photos you might be interested in.Thanks so much!
