In June of 2014, Pelican Publishing Company will release my book detailing the true story of the Lincoln County feud.
Congrats, Brandon! I can’t wait to get my copy. It will be a thrilling read.
Brandon, I am hardly able to wait! I love our history of Logan and Lincoln Co and I’m so happy I found you and your work! Some of my ancestors are Thompsons, Nelsons (Queens Ridge), Jefferson and Patton Thompson. My Grandfather was the youngest son of Lewis Thompson and Dolly Faye Nelson. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad to know that you enjoy my research and writing. It’s always good to connect with people who are enthusiastic about local/regional history and genealogy. As you may know, we are related: I too descend from Patton Thompson. Please keep in touch.
Very interesting to read, my mother grew up on trace fork and my dad at Ferrellsgurg right where the church is on rt. 10 . My dads family r buried in Adkins cemetery upon the hill behind the church. Please try and dig more history , very good read.
Thank you so much. Glad to hear from you. I was raised and still live at Ferrellsburg. If you send me your Adkins line, I’ll likely have some stories and photos for you. You can email me the info, if you’d like. I’m also very interested in the families on Trace.
My great-grandparents were J.M. “Doc” Mullins and Martha (Farley) Mullins. My grandmother is Orpha (Mullins) Kirk. Are you descended from Mack and Cora (Tomblin) Adkins?
I loved that book.I am from Lincoln County Wv Not a Hatfield Or McCoy but I felt for both families while reading the book.Good job.Brandon
Thanks, Doris! If you don’t mind, go to Amazon and give the book a great review! Much appreciated.
Hello Brandon, I just purchased your book and am very excited to read it. My family is the Farley’s from all over WV and VA. They intermix with Mullins, Thompson’s and Adkins. Thanks for all your hard work. I’ll make sure I enter a review when I’m done reading.
Thank you, Faith! I descend from all of the families you mention. That makes us cousins, many times over! Keep in touch.
